American Government
The purpose of the American Government course is to provide students with an overview of the major institutions, history and philosophies which have helped shape the nation. This course examines and evaluates matters relating to the student's role as an American citizen in an ever-changing world, focusing on the institutions of the nation, state, and community. Students have the opportunity to develop and practice analytical and critical thinking skills as they explore philosophies of the Enlightenment related to human nature and government, historical foundations, power, authority, change and choices facing the United States and the state of Missouri.
